Overview

Katherine (Katie) is a fierce environmental advocate dedicated to helping others.

Her practice primarily focuses on affirmative and defensive discovery in addition to natural resource litigation.

Before joining Sher Edling, Katie served as a trial attorney for the Environmental Enforcement Section of the United States Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division, joining through the Attorney General’s Honors Program in 2022. In that role, she represented the United States in complex civil actions enforcing federal pollution statutes, including CERCLA, Clean Water Act, System Resource Protection Act (SURPA), and Clean Air Act, against individual, corporate, and state defendants. During her time with the Department, Katie led multiple case teams in litigation and negotiations, and, in 2024, represented the United States in a SURPA trial for environmental damages to the Virgin Islands National Park, United States v. Ingrao et al., 3:19-cv-00096.

In her free time, Katie enjoys roller skating, dancing, and spending time with those she loves.
