Overview

Thomas joined Sher Edling to help communities across the country navigate and overcome the challenges posed by climate change and environmental destruction. Thomas currently represents states and local governments in their lawsuits seeking to hold fossil fuel companies liable for their deceptive trade practices.

Prior to joining the firm, he studied law at UC Berkeley where he received his J.D. and certificate of specialization in environmental law and policy. During his time there he was a member of Ecology Law Quarterly, a notes editor for California Law Review, and a director of a student-led environmental justice law clinic. Before pursuing his legal career, Thomas worked at The Trust for Public Land, where he partnered with cities and nonprofits across the country to improve access to parks and green spaces.

Thomas graduated summa cum laude from Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College, City University of New York, with degrees in History and English.
