We are proud to welcome Kristen Law Sagafi as our new Litigation Director, along with Senior Associate Maggie Tides and Associate Kate Fritz to our growing team of dedicated professionals working to protect people and the planet.
Kristen brings nearly 20 years of complex litigation experience to her new role providing direction and guidance to attorneys and staff across Sher Edling’s case portfolio. She was Managing Partner responsible for opening the California office of Tycko & Zavareei LLP, and before that, served for more than a decade at Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP, where she represented plaintiffs in consumer fraud and defective products cases. Kristen has served on the Board of California Women Lawyers and the Bar Association of San Francisco and she teaches a litigation skills course focused on consumer protection at Berkeley Law.
Maggie joins us after serving as deputy county counsel in both Placer and San Mateo Counties (CA), where she served as in-house counsel for the counties and associated public agencies. Maggie previously clerked for the U.S. Department of Justice, Environmental and Natural Resources Division, focusing primarily on water contamination cases. She also clerked for the Alameda District Attorney’s Office, in the Consumer and Environmental Protection Division.
Kate is a 2020 graduate of NYU Law School where she was an Executive Editor of the NYU Environmental Law Journal, a Research Assistant at the Institute of Policy Integrity, and she clerked for the California DOJ’s Natural Resources Law Section. Most recently, Kate served as was the Water Law Fellow at the Center for Law, Energy & the Environment (CLEE) at UC Berkeley Law School.
