The American Water Works Association (AWWA) is holding its Annual Conference & Expo June 21-24 in Washington, DC. This year’s conference theme is Water Heroes: Every water professional is a hero on a journey. From protecting public health to preserving resources, water heroes fight the challenges the water community faces and protect their communities. Sher Edling Partner Ashley Campbell is moderating a panel on June 24 titled “Utilizing Lessons From PFAS to Prepare for What’s Next.”
Overview of the panel, from the conference agenda: What is the next contaminant of concern and how can water providers prepare now for what’s coming? This interactive session will include Q&A from the regulated perspective, including lessons learned from PFAS and how water providers can operationalize those lessons for what might come next: timelines, engineering insights, public reactions, funding experiences, and BOD/local government takeaways. The session will also provide any key litigation or regulatory updates on PFAS and other key contaminants of concern.
